The post where I hit you up for money.

Over on the right, there’s a March of Dimes banner for my fundraising for the March for Babies. Dave and I will be participating in this walk in May.

I hate asking people for money; so much so that I still haven’t sent out emails to my friends and family about our fundraising efforts. I am convincing myself to get over it by remembering that this money isn’t for me. It’s money to help the March of Dimes make sure that no more babies go through what Jillian went through. It’s money to help the March of Dimes make sure that no more parents have to deal with the unbearable grief that Dave and I have been living with for almost three months and will have to deal with for the rest of our lives. I wouldn’t wish that on my worst enemy, and it’s what finally compelled me to write this post.

Please consider making a donation to the March of Dimes. If it’s not through my March for Babies team, that’s perfectly fine. Even if it’s just a dollar, it’s wonderful. Every penny counts. If you’ve already made a donation, on behalf of Dave, Jillian, and me, thank you so much for your generosity.

  1. Hi Dear,
You are still in my prayers and sure hope you are getting stronger day by day. Just wanted you to know that we love you! Dottie

  2. Ohhh Megan~
Your stregnth and determination to not just “get over it”, but really work through the unspeakable pain that entered you life three months ago, is such a testament to your character. I have been married for years and began my mothering adventures to five kiddos nearly 17 years ago. It seems that not much should surprise me however, I’m humbled every time I read your entries, Megan. I’ve read them all and have cried more often than not…as I continue to pray daily that your broken hearts are some how soothed.

Bless you, Dear One, today and always.
    Sweet dreams,

P.s. Dave and I are cousins. My very favorite uncle is Mark (Shhh, it’s a secret 🙂 )…who is my mom’s (Pam) brother. I grew up in Alaska and have not seen Dave since I was quite young. I now live in Maple Grove, Minnesota.

  3. I’m not too sure how I strolled across your blog, but I did. I’ve just read everyone of your posts. You’re strength is remarkable. I have not suffered a loss as you have and can not even begin to say anything about anything but I just wanted to let you know that your strength to write is so brave. God bless you and Dave, God bless Jillian. Keep on keeping on.

  4. I just did a power-read through your blog and haven’t cried like this in ages. (((hugs))) You are amazing! Just a thought on the walk, I know of a really wonderful charity group that may be able to help out. I know it sounds really childish, but they show up as screen-accurate Star Wars characters. I thought it was stupid the first time I went to an event with them present, and they were wonderful. It really surprised me how much fun the event was. Nothing like having Darth Vader encouraging the participants, lol. There are two groups who do it: The Rebel Legion (they have the good guys) and the 501st Legion (bad guys). If you’d like contact info, let me know, I’d be happy to help.
